Amalha is a Buddhist charitable non-profit organization.

Started as private initiative in the late 1990ies to come in aid of Tibetan refugees in India and people from Himalayas.  Amalha was recognized by the Belgian authorities as asbl in 1999.

Next to direct help to refugees, our other aims are to promote solidarity between Buddhist women of different cultural backgrounds and to study, convey and protect Buddhist philosophy, religion and culture.

The organization is wholly made up of volunteers, guaranteeing low overhead costs and maximum use of the incoming donations.

At this moment Amalha arranges for the sponsoring of about 100 persons of all age groups to help out with medical costs, schooling, general cost of living and/or housing.
